Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Radiochemistry Facility at Mayo Clinic Florida, housed within the Division of Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow in the field of radiopharmaceutical discovery and development for PET imaging or radiotheranostics. Under the mentorship of Dr. Hancheng Cai, Ph.D., the selected candidate will engage in cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research projects focused on the design, synthesis, and translation of novel radiopharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include conducting innovative research, ensuring compliance with Mayo Clinic's policies and procedures, and contributing to a collaborative and productive scientific environment. Research training experiences will include radiopharmaceutical design, synthesis, and development for PET radiotracers or radiotheranostic agents, preclinical evaluation of radiopharmaceutical in cells or mouse models, and clinical production of these innovative radiopharmaceuticals for first-in-human clinical studies.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to participate in translational research at the interface of chemistry, molecular imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and clinical nuclear medicine.
The position is available for two years with the potential for extension. The salary will be based on the applicant experience and the Mayo Clinic guidelines.
Must have a Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant, such as a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacology, biomedical engineering. Additional experience with radiochemistry is preferred but not essential. Research background in biology, pharmacology, and cell studies and animal handling would also be beneficial.
