The 2026 summer intern for the raw material and single-use systems (sus) team in cell therapy will identify and implement artificial intelligence-driven solutions to enhance team workflows. The intern will assess current raw material and sus processes in cell therapy, research applicable ai technologies, and collaborate with team members to design and pilot innovative tools that improve efficiency, data integrity, and decision-making. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to technology transformation efforts in biomanufacturing, with mentorship from experienced professionals and exposure to industry best practices.

The full-time internship will take place june - august 2026.

key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional experts to understand our raw material and single-use systems processes in cell therapy.
• Research and evaluate how advanced ai tools can streamline data management, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
• Develop pilot projects that apply ai for risk assessment, process optimization, and compliance.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, directly influencing technology adoption strategies.

qualifications & experience

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in chemical/biomedical engineering, data science, computer science, biochemistry, or related field.
• Passionate about automation, ai, and their application in life sciences.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Driven to learn from and contribute to a global biopharma leader.

This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with bms.

The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $23.00 to $42.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not bms). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change.
