Radiology Technologist - Urgent Care

Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking skilled and compassionate ARRT Radiology or Limited License X-Ray Technologists to enhance our vibrant healthcare team.

Baptist Health Urgent Care operates 23 locations across Arkansas and is part of Urgent Team, a prominent independent operator of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. Our centers deliver quality, accessible family healthcare services at over 80 locations under various brands.

Baptist Health Urgent Care provides a variety of services, including injury and illness treatment, occupational health, and wellness care. Our centers are open seven days a week with specific operating hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Notably, our Fort Smith-Northside location operates on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. In addition, all Baptist Health Urgent Care centers hold the Accredited Care Centers designation from the Urgent Care Association, highlighting our commitment to safety, quality, and a comprehensive range of services.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Radiology Technologist will perform x-ray tests, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and physiology for patient movement and body mechanics. This role involves operating diagnostic equipment, developing films, and preparing examination rooms with the necessary supplies and equipment, alongside performing Medical Assistant duties. Full-time team members will work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, including 12-hour weekday shifts and alternating weekends. PRN (per diem) team members will be scheduled as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following tasks outline the expectations of this position but are not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned.

• Greet patients promptly upon arrival in waiting and examination areas.
• Maintain clear communication regarding wait times and the next steps in the treatment process.
• Address patient concerns and escalate emergent situations appropriately.
• Conduct follow-up calls with urgency and care.
• Assist front desk staff with patient check-in/out as required.
• Accurately record patient vital signs, weight, medical history, current medications, allergies, and relevant information.
• Support patient transfers and assist with provider-supervised procedures.
• Adhere to documentation protocols for patient visits.
• Perform timely radiology procedures, facilitating follow-up evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.
• Implement quality control procedures to guarantee high-quality exams.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, following clinical and regulatory safety protocols, including radiation protection and shielding techniques.
• Ensure equipment is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions to the Manager or on-duty provider.
• Commit to ongoing improvement of diagnostic imaging skills through available educational resources.
• Maintain current licensure and certification for radiology equipment at the facility.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
High school diploma or equivalent
BLS Certification
AR State X-Ray License
ARRT Certification preferred
Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
