Join our dynamic team as a specialized Radiology Technologist - Dosimetry Specialist , where you'll play a vital role in calculating and designing radiation treatment plans for patients battling cancer and other serious diseases. You will work hand-in-hand with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate radiation doses and devise effective treatment plans that optimize tumor targeting while safeguarding healthy tissues.
- Utilize cutting-edge treatment planning software to accurately contour tumors and surrounding organs using CT and other diagnostic imaging.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and therapy teams to guarantee safe and precise treatment delivery.
- Assist in conducting quality assurance testing on treatment plans and equipment prior to patient treatment.
- Document and archive patient files and treatment plans while performing chart checks throughout the treatment process.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the treatment process.
Work Environment:
- This role is situated in hospitals, cancer centers, or physician's offices, often requiring you to work at a computer as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with a solid foundation in anatomy, physics, and mathematics.
