The Paul Tejada Center for Radiation Oncology at Henry Ford Health is one of the most technologically advanced radiation therapy facilities in the state. Now part of Henry Ford Cancer, Henry Ford Radiation Oncology provides access to Henry Ford's leading-edge cancer research and treatments to patients in Jackson and its surrounding communities.
Our advanced radiation technology provides precise 3-dimensional imaging and enhanced safety features while delivering treatment faster and more efficiently. High doses of radiation are directly targeted to the cancer cells with millimeter accuracy and minimal exposure to healthy tissue and organs. The chance for patient motion is greatly reduced, which also increases precision and increases the patient's comfort level during treatment.
General Summary:
Under general supervision administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including linear accelerator, High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader, and Computed Tomography.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible.
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
- Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs/stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
- Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
