Procurement Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
We're partnering with a growing construction firm seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for our infrastructure rehabilitation projects. This role is an exciting opportunity to build procurement processes from the ground up while supporting impactful projects that protect public and environmental health.
The ideal candidate brings experience in construction or utility procurement, a proactive mindset, and familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, field teams, and leadership to ensure that procurement aligns with timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish and manage procurement workflows to support project execution, vendor coordination, and materials management.
• Collaborate with operations to source and purchase specialized construction and rehabilitation materials, tools, and services aligned with project scopes.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value and performance.
• Utilize NetSuite ERP for purchase order creation and/or related collaborations with the ops, vendor tracking, inventory oversight, and procurement reporting.
• Forecast material and equipment needs based on project schedules and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to anticipate demand.
• Maintain vendor and subcontractor records, certifications, and compliance documents.
• Monitor order fulfillment and delivery schedules to mitigate delays and project risks.
• Support bid and RFP processes for large-scale public infrastructure projects.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize procurement strategies as ACUS scales operations.
• Work closely with AP to ensure the downstream processing of invoices is timely and accurate.
• Support AP processes as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field. (Preferred)
• 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a construction, water/wastewater, or public infrastructure environment.
• Familiarity with materials and systems used in trenchless rehabilitation, Stormwater, or sanitary sewer infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Proficient with NetSuite ERP or similar platforms for purchasing and inventory tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a process-driven mindset and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
