Department Overview

This role supports the Mohs surgeon and Histology Technologist in the laboratory environment, with a potential of 10-12 hours of work per week.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for both routine and special examinations.
• Execute histological procedures to embed, stain, and mount samples using standard and special techniques to produce diagnostic slides.
• Examine specimen slides, track results, and generate result reports.
• Maintain and repair laboratory instruments while ensuring a sterile work area and sufficient supplies.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety, quality control, and assurance standards.
• Show initiative, discipline, and sound judgment in accordance with established practices.
• Perform routine tasks across the Histology Laboratory.
• Interact respectfully with all age groups and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
• Stay updated on new procedures and changes in hospital policies and protocols.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences is required.
