Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a Full Time Registered Nurse PAT to join our team at our NEW Houston, TX (77072) location!

The Registered Nurse PAT is responsible for coordinating the pre-admission testing (PAT) and interview/assessment process for patients scheduled to undergo an invasive or surgical procedure. Communicates with providers and/or their respective office staff as indicated regarding patient testing results to optimize the patient's condition prior to surgery.

Essential Functions:

• Ensures supplies and equipment needed are available and in good working order
• Explains nursing procedures and actions taken to help reduce anxiety
• Assesses patients physical and mental status
• Documents patient care delivered accurately in the medical record
• Implements doctors orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinates patient care, provides explanations and teaching to patient/family
• Plans for routine events and anticipates/prevents and manages/evaluates emergent situations
• Adapts to unexpected changes
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Participates in performance improvement activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to work independently demonstrating sound judgment and reliability
• Initiative and ability to troubleshoot and resolve conflict
• Able to thrive and succeed in a team environment
• Exceptional organization skills, ability to multitask and prioritize work activity based on need, attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through skills
• Advanced level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail yielding effective conveyance of information

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current and unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas
• Five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience
• Basic Life Science (BLS) certified
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified or must be obtained within thirty (90) days of hire
