Powder Coater

The Powder Coater is responsible for preparing and applying powder coating finishes to wheelchair components and frames. This role ensures high-quality surface finishes that meet durability and aesthetic standards, contributing to the overall performance and appearance of our mobility products.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload wheelchair parts onto racks for powder coating.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, and inspecting for defects.
• Apply powder coatings using electrostatic spray equipment in a spray booth.
• Monitor curing ovens and ensure proper temperature and timing.
• Inspect finished parts for coating quality, coverage, and color, performing touch-ups and rework as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning spray booths and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Experience with blueprint reading.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of stainless steel preparation, buffing, and grinding.
• Experience with powder coating and painting processes.
• Production experience in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Familiarity with measurement tools such as tape measures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, team-oriented production facility with exposure to high temperatures, especially during summer months. It is a full-time, on-site position with standard weekday shifts and occasional extended hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pasco, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
