Position Summary
The intern will support the design, development, and validation of a potency functional characterization assay within the Potency Analytical Development Team. This role offers hands-on laboratory experience and exposure to assay development processes, data analysis, and scientific documentation. The intern will collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure robust assay performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
The full-time internship will take place June - August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and optimization of potency functional characterization assays
- Perform laboratory experiments, including sample preparation, assay execution, and data collection
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to assess assay performance
- Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in the electronic laboratory notebooks
- Support assay validation activities when appropriate
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot
- Present findings and progress in team meetings
- Maintain laboratory safety and compliance with standard operating procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with cell-based or biochemical assays
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Prior internship or industrial laboratory experience is a plus
All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Please note that immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with BMS.
The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $23.00 to $42.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change.
