We're looking for an experienced data architect like you to deliver leading-edge solutions in support of the counter illicit trafficking mission.

As a data architect on our defense technology group, you'll use your extensive technical expertise to design data architecture solutions for service-oriented architecture and data visualization. You'll resolve routine data architecture issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by analyzing existing data structures and making recommendations to our clients that improve performance and ease of consumption.

In this role, you'll grow your technical expertise, apply best practices, and use tools like SQL and PostgreSQL, and data grip to design and implement database structures that support many OLTP applications and visualizations tools. You'll guide your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you'll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met, and solutions are delivered.

You Have:

• 6+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including data architecture, query performance, and data normalization
• Experience designing and implementing ETL processes for OLTP databases, including denormalizing data to facilitate analytical queries and reporting purposes
• Experience performing large-scale migrations and understanding the common risks and impacts of data migrations
• Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and working across technical teams and delivery teams to drive outcomes
• Experience in an Agile enterprise environment, using Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence
• Ability to evaluate software requirements to provide efficient database designs and implementation scripts for a service-based architecture
• Ability to quickly learn large complex data structures and non-standard RDMS implementations, and make design recommendations that align with industry best practices and ACID standards
• Ability to quickly understand the intent and logic of PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL functions and procedures
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with enterprise data platforms, AI and ML platform orchestration, or intelligent automation at scale
• Experience with Power BI, Maven Smart Systems, Palantir, and ArcGIS Earth
• Experience writing service-level code in popular programming languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, Python, and Java

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
