Join a very experienced and well-respected team of Physicians and Neonatology Nurse Practitioners at Ascension St. Alexius Women and Childrens Hospital in Hoffman Estates, IL. The salary is $194.00 per hour.

This job location is not currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

Responsibilities

Ascension Illinois is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatology Physician for our Neonatology Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients.

• 24/7 Pediatric Hospitalist service
• 24/7 Pediatric Intensivist Service
• Great access to all Pediatric Sub-specialists

Responsibilities include:

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
