Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in implementing individualized treatment programs as directed by a Physical Therapist. Join our dynamic team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills, a leading 150-bed facility in San Antonio offering specialized services in various medical fields including orthopedic, surgical, and rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities:

• Implement tailored treatment plans based on patient diagnosis, age, and specific needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation including Daily and Weekly Progress Notes.
• Communicate patient observations and responses effectively with the Physical Therapist and healthcare team.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education regarding home programs and equipment needs.
• Supervise Rehab Technicians, Physical Therapy Assistant students, and Volunteers.
• Support new associate orientation and manage patient scheduling to enhance care quality.

• Engage in Performance Improvement initiatives and uphold departmental productivity standards.
• Stay informed about local community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals.
• Pursue ongoing educational opportunities for personal growth and departmental advancement.

• Build positive relationships with medical staff, physicians, and referral sources.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent certification.
• Familiarity with all modalities and equipment used in physical therapy.

Experience:

• No prior experience required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State Board of Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners of Texas.
• BLS certification required.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment health screening and annual screenings thereafter.
