Position Summary

As a Phlebotomist, you will collect laboratory specimens in a professional manner from patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. Your role is vital in ensuring high-quality results that meet regulatory and accreditation standards. Your responsibilities include:

• Collecting blood samples and managing specimens while ensuring patient safety.
• Accurately recording and documenting patient information.
• Adhering to standard procedures and safety regulations.
• Using asepsis techniques during all phlebotomy procedures.
• Communicating effectively with patients, addressing their health information and questions about the collection process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you should have:

• A high school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED).
• Prior experience in a medical setting is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program or relevant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
