Clinical Mentor Rn Be the Nurse Who Grows Other Nurses!
Are you a seasoned nurse with a passion for guiding others? Do you love seeing the "aha!" moment when everything clicks for a new nurse? If you're ready to inspire, support, and lead the next generation of caregivers, then this role is made for you!
We're looking for a Clinical Mentor (CM) a confident, compassionate, and experienced RN who knows how to walk the talk. You'll work side-by-side with novice nurses, mentoring them through their first steps into clinical practice and helping them grow into strong, competent professionals.
What You'll Do:
- Be a role model and mentor for new nurses sharing real-world knowledge, support, and encouragement.
- Guide them through competency development using evidence-based practice and clinical expertise.
- Jump in on the floor as a bedside RN to support mentorship, assessments, and team coverage.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and hands-on skills development in the moment.
- Work closely with nursing leadership, clinical education, and other teams across the organization sometimes traveling to make it happen.
- Balance mentorship with real-time patient care this is a hands-on clinical role, not a desk job.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Missouri RN license
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 3 years of recent full-time experience in your clinical specialty
- Strong computer skills (EMR + Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and sometimes work evenings or weekends to support nurse residents
- Must work at the bedside at least 12 hours every 6 weeks to maintain clinical sharpness (and during a staffing crisis, possibly more)
Bonus Points (Preferred):
- RN certification in education or your specialty area
- Additional instructor certifications (such as BLS or ACLS instructor)
