Job Summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in providing compassionate, resident-centered care and assistance with daily living activities to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering age-appropriate care tailored to each resident's physical and psychological needs.
• Assisting with essential daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and offering psycho-social support.
• Recording vital signs and documenting outcomes related to resident care and medication administration.
• Administering medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and maintaining documentation of care.
• Creating a positive dining experience through assistance with meals and hydration.
• Facilitating residents' mobility through transfers, repositioning, and walking, while ensuring their safety.
• Maintaining cleanliness in residents’ areas through housekeeping and laundry services.
• Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational programs.
• Communicating with the charge nurse about any changes in resident conditions or concerns.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
• A minimum age of 18 (preferred).
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care (preferred).
• Completion of required training and maintenance of certifications specific to the job role.
• Certifications and requirements based on state regulations for Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, and South Dakota.
