Job Preparation Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Job Preparation Technician to prepare parts for painting by cleaning, taping, and processing them. This role involves sanding and deburring parts using various tools and requires attention to detail and quality. You will work with small parts, preparing between 1,500-3,000 parts each shift.

This is a swing shift position. The hours are from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for painting by cleaning with acetone or isopropyl.
• Tape parts to trays and manage them during the painting process.
• Sand and deburr parts using files, wire brushes, hand grinders, or power tools.
• Perform sandblasting, which can be physically demanding on hands and shoulders.
• Preprocess a high volume of small parts efficiently each shift.

Essential Skills

• General production skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• An eye for quality and attention to detail.
• High initiative and a sense of urgency.
• Prior manufacturing experience with experience meeting deadlines, quotas, and production goals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience or hobbies related to tinkering, arts and crafts, painting, or drawing.
• Past experience in paint preparation, powder coating, or industrial painting.
• Ability to handle chemicals and wear protective gear as necessary.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills for minimal data entry and counting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
