This position will work a schedule that runs concurrent with the 10-month school calendar of the Sarasota County Public School System.
Your Specific Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate generalized school health services at assigned schools according to the local School Health Services Plan, established protocols, and supervisor's instructions.
Manage and coordinate special projects related to School Health as outlined in the local School Health Services Plan, established protocols, and supervisor's instructions.
Provide age-appropriate nursing counseling on topics including, but not limited to, smoking cessation, domestic violence prevention, and suicide prevention.
Perform other related duties as assigned per supervisor's instructions with adjustable scheduling, such as participating in Department of Health clinics as assigned and attending and participating in staff development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of nursing practice
Interpersonal skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule
Ability to make visits/meetings outside the school setting
Ability to operate various machines and equipment such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.

Qualifications:
Minimum -

Current, active Florida Registered Nursing license or a multistate license from another Compact State
One year of professional nursing experience

Preferred -

Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health related field
School Health experience
Home Health experience
Master's degree
