Occupational Therapist - PRN

Summary:

Join our compassionate team as an Occupational Therapist delivering exceptional care to patients. You will assess, develop, and implement tailored treatment plans while engaging in vital clinical operations and departmental improvements. Work alongside a dedicated staff, guiding Occupational Therapy students and supervising skilled team members, including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Technicians.

Our facility is a 150-bed hospital, offering a broad range of specialized services, including orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, cardiovascular care, and comprehensive rehabilitation. You will be part of an organization dedicated to patient-centered care and community health.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and daily living skills, tailored to diagnosis and age-specific needs.
• Collaborate with patients and families to create individualized treatment plans that include measurable goals for recovery.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care and family conferences to enhance patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance to patients and families regarding treatment plans, ensuring successful transition upon discharge.
• Assist in supervising and coordinating student programs and volunteer initiatives within the department.
• Support departmental operations, including orienting new staff and managing patient schedules to optimize care delivery.
• Uphold the CORE values of our health system in all professional interactions.
• Engage in Performance Improvement initiatives to enhance departmental services.
• Foster connections with community resources to broaden patients' access to care.
• Encourage continuous learning opportunities for self and team members while participating in research where applicable.
• Adapt care methods to meet the diverse needs of patients across all demographics.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with medical staff and referral sources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the department.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of all modalities and equipment utilized by Occupational Therapy Assistants as per Texas regulations.

Experience

• No prior experience required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Must hold an Occupational Therapist license issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
• BLS certification is required.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment health screenings and annual health screenings thereafter.
