About the Unit

The Surgery Department has three operating rooms, two endo suites, and a c-section room and supports other services including manometry and bronchoscopy. It is the busiest regional site performing roughly 200 more procedures than other top performing regional sites monthly. We see a variety of cases including multi-specialty, ortho, general OB/GYN, urology, dentistry, Ear Nose and Throat, and bariatric.

Scope of Work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Cleans patient's environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organization data.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
