Inpatient Per Diem Nurse Practitioner For Interventional Radiology
The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Inpatient Per Diem Nurse Practitioner for Interventional Radiology at Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, NJ. On-call commitment.
Responsibilities include performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments; ordering, performing, and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures; managing general medical and surgical conditions; prescribing medication safely and effectively; providing care that is patient- and family-centered; practicing as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff; adhering to HMH nursing protocols, standards of care, and disease-specific quality indicators; applying evidence-based and value-based medicine; evaluating patient/family transition of care planning; demonstrating clinical expertise; completing medication reconciliations; participating in annual APN peer review; translating best practice into clinical practice; providing culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education; facilitating consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team; serving as an advocate for patients and families; serving as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team; participating in organizational and departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups; demonstrating the highest level of accountability for professional practice; adhering to the ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adverse outcomes; collaborating with medical staff to support nursing-led protocols; mentoring other APNs, precepting students in APN programs and participating in educational programs for nursing as a clinical expert; identifying patient/family educational needs and collaborating to implement appropriate teaching materials; facilitating and participating in nursing educational programs as a clinical expert; promoting a collaborative work environment supporting the organizational mission, behavior expectations, values, and pillars; promoting innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice; participating in clinical research activities and disseminating findings through practice, education, presentations, and publications; identifying ethical care issues and coordinating interdisciplinary meetings to resolve them; adhering to the legal framework and scope of practice defined by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, ensuring compliance with all applicable statutes and professional standards; complying with HMH and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures as applicable to role; and adhering to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications include a graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program, a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice, experience in a relevant patient care setting, National Provider Identifier (NPI), prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law, collaborative agreement with physicians on staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficient computer skills.
Compensation is a minimum rate of $71.54 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
