Nurse Practitioner Integrative Health Part-Time

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The Hope Tower Part Time Integrative Health Medicine Nurse Practitioner utilizes the patient-centered coordinated care model demonstrated through the following competencies: leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. Works collaboratively with other practice/hospital team members to assess, plan and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Integrative health medicine experience required. Part Time position of (2) 10 hrs days. Preference for experience in adult medical/integrative medicine or integrative medicine education through an accredited program.

Responsibilities include performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments appropriate for the patient's age, gender, and clinical problem. Ordering, performing, and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures in collaboration with physicians and consultants as appropriate. Managing general medical and surgical conditions based on comprehensive knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and the indications and contraindications of pharmacologic agents and other treatment modalities. Prescribing medication safely and effectively in accordance with best practices, hospital policy, and NJ regulations, providing patient education as needed.

Additional responsibilities include promoting Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) APN practice recognition (locally, nationally, and internationally) through conferences, publications, and presentations. Providing care that is patient- and family-centered, compassionate, and effective for the promotion of health and treatment of disease. Practicing as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and bylaws as outlined in the delineation of privileges. Adhering to HMH nursing protocols, standards of care, and disease-specific quality indicators.

Qualifications include a graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program, a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice, experience in a relevant patient care setting, National Provider Identifier (NPI), prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration, collaborative agreement with physicians on staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficient computer skills.
