Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Works with senior team members on workflow around system upgrades.

Deploys required patches for identified gaps.

Performs routine operating system and hardware preventative maintenance based on hardware and operating system best practices.

Supports selection and/or deployment of tools and processes to support operations and administration of enterprise infrastructure.

Understands and consults on system backup plan, documenting, and logging process.

Tests disaster/system recovery and provides input to updates.

Minimum Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.

0-2 years relevant work experience.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competencies

Knowledge of the OSI model.

Proficient functions of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VOIP phones and servers.

Proficient layer 2 switching concepts/technologies: MAC addresses, VLANs, Trunks, STP.

Understands IP addressing, subnetting and ARP.

Proficiency in routing protocols such as: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP.

Proficiency in Telecom and ISP Handoff preferred.

Proficiency in network discovery protocols: SNMP, NetFlow, CDP and LLDP.

Proficiency in common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup.

Proficient Understanding of Quality-of-Service (QoS).

Proficiency of copper and fiber transport medias and their associated standards.

Strong desire to learn new and emerging technologies.

CCENT/CCNA/NETWORK+ Or equivalent knowledge/experience.
