MRI Imaging Specialist

Optum is actively seeking an experienced MRI Imaging Specialist to join our dedicated team. This position carries a competitive hourly wage ranging from $28 to $50 along with a generous $10,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

As a vital member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you will contribute significantly to our mission of enhancing healthcare for all. You'll be equipped with extensive clinical resources and support from a global organization, enabling you to provide exceptional care to patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate all MRI equipment efficiently while ensuring patient safety through thorough education and screening.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, patients, and their families, ensuring quality patient care.
• Conduct quality control and assist in MRI procedures, maintaining a seamless operational flow within the department.
• Review patient records and requisitions to determine proper setup and address any specific medical issues.
• Educate patients on procedures, fostering a better understanding and ensuring a positive experience.
• Participate in training and mentoring of new personnel, enhancing departmental teamwork.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations while maintaining high-quality scanning standards.
• Support the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years.
• Maintain certifications, including CPR, and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances effectively.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification.
• MRI certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in radiography or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to follow instructions effectively.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lifting up to 50 pounds required.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 for equipment operation and film review.
