Job Overview: Crosby Plumbing, Inc. is seeking a certified and experienced Medium Equipment Operator to support underground utility, demolition, grading, and earthwork projects across Southern California. This position requires expert operation of compact and medium-sized equipment, including mini excavators, skid steer loaders, small backhoes, and compact wheel loaders. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a proven safety record, and the ability to work efficiently in diverse site conditions-from tight urban spaces to large-scale infrastructure jobs.

Our expertise spans asphalt, concrete, masonry, and large-scale site and utilities work. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mini excavators, skid steer loaders, small backhoes, and compact wheel loaders
- Perform trenching, grading, material handling, demolition, and site preparation tasks
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and coordinate minor repairs or maintenance
- Follow California safety regulations and jobsite best practices at all times
- Operate effectively in confined spaces, urban settings, and challenging site conditions
- Work closely with supervisors and project managers to ensure accurate execution of plans
- Maintain productivity and efficiency while ensuring high-quality results
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and jobsite organization as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating medium-sized machinery for residential, commercial, or municipal projects
- California CDL Class A or C with applicable endorsements (required)
- Must have completed the Union apprenticeship program, specifically in equipment operation
- Approved by the State of California for medium equipment operation
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safe worksite practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work in tight spaces
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- OSHA 10/30 Construction Safety Certification (preferred)
- First Aid and CPR training (preferred)

Schedule
