Medical Biller

*Overview:*
*Our client, a growing orthopedic practice, is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist* to join their team on-site full-time. This individual will play a key role in supporting billing operations for four providers, with additional providers expected to join the practice in the near future. The team currently includes two part-time remote billing professionals, and this role will help streamline and enhance billing workflows.
The initial focus will be on *accounts receivable clean-up*, addressing outstanding claims and transitioning from paper-based billing to *electronic billing* using *Medix Premier*, a legacy billing system.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Payment Posting:* Review billing documentation, identify appropriate fees, and accurately post payments.
* *Denial Management:* Investigate unpaid claims, determine root causes, and take corrective actions to ensure reimbursement.
* *HCFA Form Processing:* Prepare and mail HCFA forms as required.
* *Workers' Compensation & Liability Billing:* Manage claims related to workers' comp and liability cases, common in orthopedic and pain management settings.
* *Reductions Handling:* Process claim reductions initiated by attorneys post-settlement, ensuring accurate adjustments.
* *Coding Support (Optional):* Assist with coding tasks to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
*Preferred Skills & Qualifications:*
* Minimum *1 year of experience* in medical billing (full-cycle billing not required).
* Familiarity with *denials, payment posting, and reductions*.
* Experience with *workers' compensation billing* is highly desirable.
* Exposure to *orthopedics or pain management* is a strong plus.
* Knowledge of *medical coding* is beneficial but not mandatory.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
