Manager Of Underwriting, Nation Accounts

Due to growth, CVS is looking for a Manager of Underwriting, Nation Accounts. We are looking for a candidate who likes to:

  • Prepare and deliver complex new business quotes and/or existing business renewals for National Accounts segment.
  • Support medical and/or dental products.
  • Independently perform accurate analysis and risk assessment to produce sound financial responses/products in a timely manner.
  • Assist departments with projects or workgroups, including process improvement initiatives - Anticipates questions and formulates responses - Applies underwriting guidelines and grants underwriting exceptions/financial variances within variance authority limits - Identifies training gaps and recommends appropriate course of action.
  • Utilizes advanced functionality of underwriting tools, systems, and reference materials to produce accurate quotes, renewals and/or accountings.
  • Independently reviews work for accuracy, identifies risks and makes recommendations to manage risk while growing or retaining membership. Anticipates questions and formulate responses.
  • Develops underwriting strategies for customers in concert with other stakeholders (sales, claims, customer service) by using knowledge of industry trends, economy, competition, and business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in underwriting pricing methodologies.
  • Advanced understanding of insured (risk) pricing.
  • Advanced ability to collaborate with internal partners (Sales, Actuarial).
  • Ability to present to both internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience working with standard Microsoft Office product.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify training gaps and recommendations for a course of action.
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Education: The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

This is a hybrid role located at any of our hubs is not available for sponsorship.

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: The typical pay range for this role is: $60,300.00 - $145,860.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
