As the Manager of Substation Engineering at Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions division, you will have the chance to lead and cultivate a high-performing team of substation, protection and control, and CAD professionals. Together, you will tackle complex engineering projects on a global scale, ensuring we meet our client's high standards for satisfaction and quality. This position reports directly to the VP of Substation Engineering.

Your Role:
- Oversee daily operations of the Protection and Control, Substation Physical, CAD, and SCADA teams, focusing on employee engagement, performance reviews, hiring, work quality, budgets and schedules, project execution, business development, and stakeholder relations.
- Create and review proposals, man-hour estimates, technical documentation, and project approaches for diverse projects and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
- Establish strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact to address project-related concerns.
- Deliver technical training and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Apply and interpret industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, promoting collaboration and resolving design conflicts as necessary.
- Work alongside talent acquisition, human resources, and financial teams to align with divisional goals.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a minimum of ten (10+) years of relevant experience in utility substation and protection/control engineering.
- Expertise in leading projects as a substation/P&C engineer with a background in quality control.
- Experience in proposal development and engineering man-hour estimations.
- Proven ability to mentor and train staff.
- Demonstrated capability in serving effectively as a liaison between the firm and clients.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Active involvement in national engineering organizations (IEEE, PES, etc.).
- Experience working with Electric Utilities or Electric Cooperatives in Georgia, Alabama, or Mississippi.
