Manager of Accounts Payable
The Manager of Accounts Payable will oversee the entire accounts payable process within the organization. This includes managing staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments and contra payables processing, maintaining financial records, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with vendors to optimize cash flow, all while adhering to company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to maintain the integrity of financial transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Serve as a strategic partner, providing accounting leadership and guidance to key internal stakeholders.
- Oversee all aspects of daily accounts payable operations, managing timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Responsible for maintaining efficient workflows and resolving issues that could impact accuracy or deadlines.
- Supervise, train, and support the AP team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Review and reconcile vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies and managing communication with suppliers.
- Oversee the AP month-end close process, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to provide insights to senior management.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting functions related to A/P.
- Implement process improvement strategies to streamline the accounts payable process and reduce manual efforts.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and departmental goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations, including oversight of internal controls.
- Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during annual audits.
- Support Finance leadership with special projects, process enhancements, system upgrades, or ad hoc reporting related to accounts payable operations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong experience in cash accounting, Accounts Payable processes, regulatory requirements, and financial controls.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
- Hybrid based in DFW
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in managing Real Estate department accounting activities.
- CPA or other relevant certifications.
