Mammography Technologist - Competitive Hourly Wage

Position Overview:

As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care and capturing mammographic images to assist in the diagnostic process. Your role will also include fostering a calm atmosphere to help patients follow examination instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper anatomical orientation on all images and maintain accurate file identification.
• Exhibit proficiency in conducting all mammography procedures and using related equipment.
• Welcome patients, gather medical history, and input information into the electronic medical records system.
• Capture high-quality mammographic images according to established guidelines.
• Manage logs and process paperwork as necessary for biopsies.
• Implement sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
• Adhere to quality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized mammography suite, ensuring all necessary medical supplies are stocked.
• Support the accreditation process with the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years.
• Monitor patient vital signs during examinations and provide necessary coverage for absences.
• Mentor new hires and contribute to a positive patient experience by sharing information about procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, their families, radiologists, and other medical staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) (M) certification required.
• Diagnostic Mammography certification required or must be obtained within 180 days.
• Experience with electronic medical records is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine.
• 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Able to assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds and position them properly for examinations.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and evaluate developed films.
