Mammography Technologist Associate

In this role, you will perform essential duties such as delivering quality patient care and producing diagnostic mammographic images for radiologists. You will help create a tranquil environment that encourages patients to adhere to examination instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify the anatomical orientation of images, ensuring proper file identification.
• Demonstrate competency in performing all mammographic procedures and operating equipment.
• Provide a warm welcome to patients, gather their history, and enter information into the computer system.
• Obtain mammographic images following established guidelines.
• Maintain logs and process paperwork for biopsies.
• Utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain quality standards.
• Oversee all clinical aspects of the mammography suite, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock of supplies.
• Support the completion of accreditation processes for the American College of Radiology (ACR).
• Monitor patient vital signs during examinations.
• Provide mentoring and support to new hires.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by informing them about procedures and follow-up requirements.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, other physicians, patients, and their families.
• Conduct daily quality assurance evaluations on imaging equipment.
• Perform mammographic images according to ACR accreditation standards.
• Resolve technical issues related to mammographic machinery and maintain appropriate supplies.
• Ensure a positive experience for both patients and referring providers.
• Be proactive in decision-making and problem-solving.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of outpatient services.
• Review examinations for technical accuracy and relay relevant information to the care team.
• Foster a collaborative work environment through positive interactions with colleagues.
• Demonstrate accountability and adaptability in meeting deadlines.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, maintaining certifications and continuing education.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT (M) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Certification in Diagnostic Mammography.
• Ability to proficiently use or learn the department's computerized systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in radiography or related field.
• 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
• Excellent communication and instruction skills.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 to perform equipment operations and review films.
