Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency - February 2026

Integrated into a Hospital's education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.

The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN's an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work environment: Med Surg Tele

Work hours: Upon completion of the Residency, anticipated hours will be full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; rotating weekends, holidays, and on call shifts required

Department Highlights:

The Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville (THS) provides care for medical and surgical patients from 29 days through the geriatric population. The Med/Surg Department is located on the second floor of the hospital and operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are 23 patient rooms. Our staffing plan delivers safe patient care utilizing a qualified skill mix including RNs, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Patient Care Techs (PCTs), and Telemetry Monitor Techs. Adjustments are made for acuity; skill mix and staff competency and support staff availability. The patient population is primarily adult, but occasionally pediatric patients are admitted. Typical diagnoses admitted include total joint replacement, hip/pelvic fracture, pneumonia, DKA, complicated appendectomies/gall bladders, CHF, complicated wounds, new onset atrial fibrillation, sepsis, metabolic encephalopathy, acute cystitis, rhabdomyolysis and other general medical/surgical conditions. The Med/Surg Department has excellent employee retention at 87%. The culture at THS is one of family; we take care of our friends, relatives and neighbors. Things you need for the position:

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.

Acceptance into THR residency program required.

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.

Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.

Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
