Job Description
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Description:
LPN with a valid New York License is required.
Candidates must be able to take their own patient assignment with the support of an RN.
Every other weekend work is required.
This position involves a 3x12 day/night rotation.
Specific experience in Medical Surgical and Phlebotomy is required.
Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 during the night and weekends.
Floating to other units is required.
The patient population includes medical patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbations, infections, and failure to thrive.
Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, obtaining 12 lead EKGs, blood glucose monitoring, and managing feeding tubes.
Candidates will perform Foley catheter insertions for both males and females.
Daily duties include communication of patient status changes to the RN/MD and vital sign monitoring.
Candidates must adhere to isolation precautions and engage in pain assessment management.
This role involves various types of medication administration, including antidepressants and anti-hypertensives.
Position requires knowledge of managing pressure ulcers and performing simple dressing changes.
Physical restraints may be used as necessary, and the role involves intake and output monitoring.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment with various support services.
Attention to detail and effective communication are essential in maintaining high-quality patient care.
