ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will focus on transportation and logistics functions. Here’s what you’ll do:

Transportation:

• Respond to all incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues. Provide drivers with updates on their routes.
• Utilize software tools (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and communicate reports for streamlined transportation operations.
• Assist in managing damages and shorts by notifying vendors and drivers and preparing necessary paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Backhaul and Logistics:

• Communicate essential information to support backhaul and transportation operations, including scheduling, service updates, and delivery issues.
• Assist with logistics operations by scheduling pick-up appointments and completing associated paperwork.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

SUPERVISION:

• N/A

WORK RELATIONSHIPS:

• Internal: Operations, transportation, warehouse personnel, drivers
• External: Vendors

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The role will primarily be desk-based in a US Foods office, with occasional work in warehouse settings, including coolers and freezers where temperatures can drop to -5 degrees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least two years of experience in a warehouse administrative or clerical role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and customer service capabilities.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong teamwork skills to support colleagues within the department.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations.
• Familiarity with the geographic delivery area.

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING:

• Experience with systems like Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, XATA, Manhattan, PowerDock, or Airclic is preferred.

Compensation depends on various factors including relevant experience and education. The expected base rate for this role is between $16 and $25, along with overtime compensation.
