About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 91-day locum tenens assignment in California. Starting Dec 1, 2025, this position offers a dynamic mix of ER and urgent care responsibilities, with 8-hour shifts that include both same day and next day appointments as well as walk-in care. The schedule features urgent care shifts from 11:00 to 19:30 and rapid care in the emergency department from 14:00 to 22:00. Candidates must have recent ER and urgent care experience and be comfortable utilizing the Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide patient care for both scheduled same day/next day appointments and walk-in visits in a mixed ER and urgent care setting
• Evaluate and manage a broad spectrum of acute illnesses and injuries typical of rapid care and urgent care environments
• Perform clinical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, timely care
• Document all patient encounters and care provided using Epic EMR
• Maintain compliance with established clinical protocols and regulatory requirements
• Apply clinical expertise in both emergency and urgent care scenarios

Additional Information

• Must have active California license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Recent and significant ER and urgent care experience is essential
• Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
