Job Description

The CNRO Float-EDIP Support unit primarily supports the Emergency Department Holding Unit. This is a fast-paced environment where travelers will manage patients located in the Emergency Department waiting for inpatient beds. The patients may present with varied medical and surgical diagnoses, and nurses will be expected to provide care in MS/Tele and float to other areas as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult patients with MS/Tele cases and support ED patients awaiting inpatient beds.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias for MS/Tele and PCU patients.
• Manage IV therapy, blood products, and peripheral and central line care.
• Perform necessary procedures, including phlebotomy and tracheostomy care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, and social services.
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and medication management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including MS/Tele.
• Valid certifications: BLS; ACLS, NIHSS, and IV insulin protocols are preferred.
• Experience with telemetry, blood administration, and various airway management techniques.
