Job Description

The Labor and Delivery unit seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in labor and delivery management, with the ability to circulate for C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, and provide immediate newborn care. Our unit handles a high volume of patients with diverse obstetrical needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater.
• Perform routine outpatient procedures, including antenatal fetal surveillance and IV therapy.
• Participate in pain management and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and social services.
• Precept and orient new staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting.
• Certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP; AWHONN Advanced is preferred.
• Experience with high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
• Ability to maintain patient ratios of 1:2.
• Required skills: Circulate for C-sections, sterile vaginal exam, and competent in immediate newborn care.
