We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical administrative support and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience in various medical specialties including internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency medicine.

Duties

• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring patient comfort.
• Conduct preliminary patient assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on medical-surgical procedures and best practices in the field.

Experience

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
• Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, with exposure to internal medicine, dermatology, or emergency medicine being advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with Cerner a nice to have, but will accept similar technologies including EpicWork Schedule: Guaranteed at 40hrs/wk - Must be available to work three 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift per week. Every third week, there is a requirement of two 12-hour shifts (weekday), one 4-hour shift (weekday), and a weekend shift (both Saturday and Sunday) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
