 About you:

• You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to):

• Venipuncture

• Placing IV Catheters

• Drug Calculations

• Administration of Medications (IV or other methods)

• Taking Vitals

• Observe, document and recognize changes in patient attitude, abnormal behavior, and changes in condition

• Providing high quality medical/nursing care

• You work well independently and as part of a team, practicing good judgment to ensure high-quality care for all patients

• You adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are not afraid to ask questions, are eager to enhance your skill set, and maintain a positive attitude

• EzyVet and SmartFlow experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits (full- time employees):

• LVT: ($30/hr + commensurate with relevant experience)

Schedule:

• 4/10- hour shifts per week

 Qualifications:

• The LVT position requires a current and active Veterinary Technician License in Virginia, or have an active license in another state that qualifies you to be eligible for licensing.

• At least two years of Veterinary experience as an LVT, or one year as a LVT and two years as a Veterinary Assistant.

• Extensive experience with anesthesia, venipuncture and catheters

• Excellent communication, patient care and customer service skills

• Be flexible and adapt well to new situations

• Work well as part of a team

Additional Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and have original, unexpired documents to verify eligibility. 

• Must be able to pass a 7-year background check and drug test (complying with local, state and Federal guidelines).

• Have a valid high school diploma or GED
