The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 50% - 10 0 % (20 - 40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UI Health Care Sioux City Family Medicine . This position supports our Family Medicine Clinic where you'll spend more time with patients and expand your physician-support and administrative duties, increasing the efficiency and productivity of the physician and anticipating future needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Percent of Time: 50-100% (20-40 hours per week)
Schedule: Variable hours 7am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday; no weekends, no on call, no holidays
Location: Sioux City, IA.
Pay Grade: 11
Salary: $44,557.92 - $66,377.52 (at 100% time) ( based on years of experience )
Qualifications
Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification/License:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

• The ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations is highly desired.

Desirable Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience.
• Previous EPIC Experience
• Demonstrated experience fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment.
