Position Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our medical/surgical unit, providing essential nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Requirements:

1. Must be licensed by the State of Tennessee.
2. Graduate of an approved nursing program.
3. BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Patient Care Delivery

Equipment and Skills Training: Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt nursing knowledge to various settings, with proficiency in technology including Order Entry Computer Systems, Telemetry, and medication management systems.

Physical Environment: You will work in a medical/surgical unit caring for patients ranging from infants to seniors.

Physical Effort:

1. Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
2. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, working up to 12 hours a day.
3. Capability to push/pull objects weighing up to 175 lbs.
4. Ability to lift and assist patients weighing up to 250 lbs with support.

Performance Standards:

1. Accurately collects data on all patients upon admission utilizing observation, communication, and examination skills.
2. Adapts individual care plans, identifying nursing diagnoses and interventions consistent with identified needs.
3. Facilitates patient education regarding discharge and post-discharge requirements.
4. Functions independently in administering treatments and utilizing equipment in compliance with policies.
5. Safe handling, transported, stored, prepared, and administered solutions according to established procedures.
6. Monitors and reports changes in patient conditions, modifying care plans as needed.
7. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions.
8. Maintains a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
9. Upholds role-specific qualifications and engages in staff development activities.
10. Ensures professionalism by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
