Licensed Practical Nurse and X-Ray Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
As an LPN/X-Ray Technician, you will assist our physicians and providers in enhancing patient comfort and care. Your responsibilities include interviewing patients, taking medical histories, administering medications and injections, processing lab and x-ray requests, updating charts, and screening calls. You will also perform x-ray testing, applying your knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and prepare patients for examination or procedure.
• Record patient health histories and note any abnormal findings for Provider review.
• Instruct patients on sample collection and testing procedures.
• Obtain vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms.
• Assist in preparing supplies and equipment for physician or mid-level practitioner during patient exams and treatments.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections in accordance with nursing standards.
• Monitor and report patient conditions and responses to treatments.
• Perform x-ray procedures and facilitate timely evaluations by providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely chart documentation and patient file maintenance.
• Assist in scheduling tests, treatments, and referrals, including obtaining pre-authorizations.
• Collect and document lab specimens, and monitor lab results.
• Notify patients regarding test results and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment.
• Adhere to infection control policies in managing waste materials.
• Provide patient education regarding medications and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription orders and patient notifications.
• Manage medication inventories and monitor controlled substances.
• Ensure the availability of medical supplies and equipment.
• Screen and triage telephone calls to maintain a productive flow of care.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
A degree from an accredited practical nursing program is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical settings preferred. Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations and possess a valid State License to perform X-Rays.
