LHH is looking for a Legal Assistant for a law firm for their Banking Practice Group. The role is in Grand Rapids, MI and is 4 days on-site / 1 remote after 90 days (initial 90 days fully in-office). This role would support 12 attorneys, including a Practice Group Leader who also sits on the firm's board. The role requires a highly motivated and professional candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and pleadings
• Maintain organized case files and manage client records
• Handle document management (experience with iManage is a plus)
• Manage attorney calendars and coordinate scheduling
• Prepare and manage court filings (state & federal e-filing)
• Provide administrative support including phones, correspondence, and filing
• Assist with billing, time entry, and use of legal billing systems
• Coordinate with court staff and clients professionally

Required Qualifications

• 12 years of office experience (legal or law firm preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with Kofax PDF preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
• Self-directed with attention to detail and multitasking abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience with iManage or other DMS
• Familiarity with drafting simple motions and pleadings
• Understanding of court processes and e-filing procedures
• Exposure to legal billing or timekeeping software

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000
