Job Title: Lead Medical Technologist

Location: Canton - Potsdam Hospital

Hours Per Week: 37.5 weekly scheduled hours

Schedule: 7.5 hour work shift

SUMMARY

Join our team as a Lead Medical Technologist, where your expertise and leadership skills will ensure the highest standards of clinical laboratory analysis and diagnostic services. Your meticulous attention to detail and extensive procedural experience will contribute significantly to patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lab Management. Conduct specialized and complex diagnostic procedures; prepare reagents with precision and manage laboratory supply inventory; interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history and conditions; communicate urgent and critical lab results effectively; perform quality control and maintain advanced laboratory instruments.

• Technical Knowledge. Stay updated on required computer functions for testing and assist in enhancing testing workflows; maybe engage in research and development of innovative technologies and provide evaluations to your supervisor.

• Leadership. Train and mentor new and existing employees on procedures and instrumentation; serve as a technical consultant to technologists, technicians, and students; contribute to the education program for the School of Medical Technology as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

• If travel is required, a valid NYS driver's license is mandatory as per the RGHS Motor Vehicle and Authorized Drivers Policy.

• BS in Medical Technology or a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent experience recognized by New York State for clinical laboratory licensure.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a Medical Technology Laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Requires exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects; involves frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$41.75 - $47.00

The listed pay range reflects the current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant and may be adjusted. Pay is determined by factors including experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual agreements.
