Anodizing Lead Technician

We are seeking a skilled Anodizing Lead Technician to join our team at a large metal finishing facility in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach, CA. The role requires first shift hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm. Compensation will be determined based on experience and ranges from $25-$35 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with operators to implement technical improvements and provide ongoing support.
• Maintain excellent attendance and promptly inform management of any quality issues.
• Assist with in-process inspections across the company.
• Complete job travelers accurately.
• Execute processing tasks such as Rack, De-Rack, Etch, Chem Film, and Anodizing (Type I, II, III, 1C).
• Perform inspection tasks using tools such as thickness gauges, micrometers (ID, OD), bore gauges, and calipers.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct receiving inspections including counting, visual inspection, and completion of previous operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized department daily.
• Process parts in accordance with customer requirements, procedures, and work instructions, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in plating, coating, electrodeposited, electroless, and conversion coating processes.
• Familiarity with passivation and inspection procedures.
• Proficient in reading and writing English with legible handwriting.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Basic sketch and blueprint reading skills.
• Competence in using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, mechanical gauges, x-rays, and thickness gauges.
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and excellent attendance record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of Lean skills and efficiency methods.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport Beach, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
