Immediate Opening: Laboratory Supervisor

The main role of the Microbiology Lab Supervisor is to oversee and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, ensuring smooth and efficient laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
• Review operations and work with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to identify production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and manage staff, and resolve any personnel grievances.
• Set and monitor product standards to ensure high-quality finished products.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive production reports and personnel records.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of microbiology/chemistry experience working in a CLIA certified or CAP accredited lab.
• 4-6+ years of leadership or people management experience. Proven leadership of teams with 30+ staff members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
