Junior Litigation Associate

A highly regarded litigation boutique based in Chicago is seeking a Junior Litigation Associate with up to three years of experience to join its team. This firm handles complex commercial and patent litigation matters across diverse industries, often collaborating with top national firms. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a non-hourly billing model, allowing attorneys to focus on strategic case work, trial preparation, and expert collaboration in a fast-paced and intellectually rigorous environment.

Duties

Support case teams on complex commercial and patent litigation matters

Assist with research, drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

Participate in expert discovery, scientific analysis, and trial preparation

Engage in strategic discussions and help develop case theories

Coordinate with national co-counsel and client teams on litigation milestones

Handle key discovery tasks and client updates

Requirements

0–3 years of litigation experience, ideally in complex commercial or intellectual property litigation

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment

Strong interest in hands-on litigation experience and high-level strategy work

Commitment to professional growth in a boutique, high-stakes litigation setting

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
