Jr Associate Buyer- Aerospace/Defense Industry

Job Title: Junior Associate Buyer - Aerospace & Defense (6-Month Contract)
Location: Torrance, CA - Full Onsite, 5 Days/Week
Length: 6-month contract
Rate: $27-$32/hr
Hours: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Position Overview:
We are working with a client in the aerospace/defense industry who is seeking a Junior Associate Buyer to assist in the buying/procurement department. This opportunity will be a 6-month contract opportunity located fully in office in Torrance. This opportunity is available due to growth and is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of buying experience who is looking to grow and develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities:

• Place and track purchase orders for production and prototype materials
• Support requests for quotes (RFQs) and help compare pricing and lead times
• Monitor deliveries, follow up with vendors, and help resolve issues quickly
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in ERP/purchasing systems
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet build schedules
• Support both day and evening production shifts through flexible work hours
• Help build and maintain strong supplier relationships

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
• 1 year of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations (internships/co-ops count)
• Familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems (training provided if needed)
• Comfortable reading technical drawings and learning sourcing of components
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Collaborative, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
• Flexible availability to support split shifts (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
