IT Analyst Sr - Application Development Analyst
The Application Development group in the Office of Academic Solutions and Information Systems (OASIS) builds, implements and supports software and data solutions for Duke's research community. The OASIS application development analyst role combines several traditional roles including QA analyst and support analyst. Application Development Analysts work collaboratively with OASIS service owners and the software development teams to design, test, document and support custom software solutions. This position would be part of the Sponsored Research team within OASIS Application Development.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate the development of custom software. The ideal candidate has knowledge of research administration processes and experience managing software development projects.
Note: Grant deadlines and production releases will require availability outside of normal business hours.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience required.
Required Experience: Three years of directly related experience is required. Extensive knowledge of research administration processes. Experience managing software development projects. Previous experience as an applications analyst or software QA analyst.
This position is remote eligible position (exempt-only) and must reside in a Duke University-approved state.
Work Performed
- Collaborate with OASIS service owners to:
- Prepare for and attend meetings with users to gather and refine requirements
- Translate business needs into functional requirements
- Ensure project milestones are met
- Coordinate and oversee implementation of new applications and features
- Ensure enhancements, bug fixes, and technology upgrades to existing applications are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with stakeholder priorities
- Establish and follow dev analyst task management processes
- Plan and coordinate system testing for new applications and features
- Develop feature acceptance criteria
- Perform manual feature and regression testing
- Consult with developers to identify gaps in automated tests
- Participate in application testing after maintenance windows and during upgrade cycles to ensure quality is maintained
- Participate in OASIS firewatch pager rotation
- Troubleshoot application problems
- Provide third-level end user support for OASIS applications
