Inventory Purchasing Specialist

Position Overview

As an Inventory Purchasing Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing spares operations for our aircraft fleet. Your primary responsibilities will include spares ordering, tracking, and managing inventory levels across all bases.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain inventory stock levels, utilizing usage history, forecasts, and shelf life considerations.
• Leverage parts forecasting and historical usage data to effectively plan orders and communicate with OEMs and suppliers for adjustments.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained for both new and existing bases.
• Review requisitions for accuracy and detail, including description, quantity, and delivery needs.
• Source and evaluate supplier quotes, negotiating the best costs for necessary spares.
• Manage procurement of components and equipment to support our fast-paced aircraft operations.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency and reliability.
• Oversee the entire flow of materials from order placement through to receipt, addressing any issues promptly.
• Report on and monitor the status of critical parts, ensuring timely delivery to support maintenance activities.
• Handle warranty claims for new aircraft and equipment, managing core tracking for the fleet.
• Conduct thorough analysis of inventory to identify and mitigate disruptions, drive cost reductions, and improve overall management.
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis for aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience in supply chain management, with a focus on purchasing.
• Experience in the aviation industry is essential.
• Technical knowledge of aircraft parts is preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and financial skills.
• Excellent negotiation abilities with suppliers and vendors.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

This position is located on-site in Lewisville, Texas, with a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000/year depending on experience. Join us to make a significant difference!
